Unify Your Game Library on Steam Deck with Unifideck

If you're a Steam Deck owner, you've probably run into the same issue we all have: your games are scattered across multiple launchers. You've got some on Steam, sure, but then there's Epic, GOG, Ubisoft Connect, EA App, and the list goes on. Switching between launchers and managing different libraries can be a hassle, breaking the flow of just wanting to pick a game and play. What if you could see and launch them all from one place?

Enter Unifideck. It's an open-source plugin that aims to solve exactly that problem by unifying your entire game library directly within the Steam Deck's Gaming Mode. No more jumping back to Desktop Mode to launch a non-Steam title.

What It Does

Unifideck is a plugin for the fantastic Decky Loader framework on Steam Deck. Once installed, it scans for games installed from other PC gaming platforms and brings them into your Steam library. It creates clean, launchable entries for your games from launchers like Epic Games Store, GOG Galaxy, Ubisoft Connect, and Amazon Games. The games appear in your Steam library with their proper titles and artwork, so you can browse and launch them just like any native Steam title.

Why It's Cool

The clever part is in its implementation. Instead of being a bulky, standalone application, Unifideck operates as a lean plugin. It leverages the existing power of Decky Loader, which many Deck users already have installed for other quality-of-life improvements. This keeps it lightweight and integrated.

It's also open source, which is a huge win for the community. You can check out the code, see how it works, contribute to it, or even fork it to add support for your own niche launcher. The developer-focused approach means transparency and the potential for the tool to grow based on what users actually need. It solves a very specific, real pain point without overcomplicating things.

How to Try It

Ready to consolidate your library? You'll need to have Decky Loader installed on your Steam Deck first. If you don't have it yet, you can find installation instructions on its GitHub page.

Once Decky Loader is set up:

  1. Open the Decky menu (by pressing the ... button and selecting the plug icon).
  2. Open the Decky Store.
  3. Search for "Unifideck" and install it.
  4. The plugin will guide you through the initial setup to scan for your games.

Final Thoughts

As someone who constantly bounces between game launchers, Unifideck feels like a missing piece. It doesn't try to do everything; it does one job and does it well—making your Deck feel like a true unified gaming hub. For developers, it's also a great example of a focused, useful open-source project that addresses a clear platform-specific need. It's the kind of tool that just makes your gaming experience a little bit smoother, and that's always a win.

What's your must-have Steam Deck plugin?
